WHAT... if we could not only structure the world's knowledge in the Ideas Engineering knowledge graph, but also visualize it in the virtual world?

The knowledge graph is an ingenious method to structure and intelligently network knowledge. But the topic appears to be dry and difficult to access for non-specialists.

We show the knowledge of the knowledge graph as a star map, through which one can explore the connections of "knowledge nodes". This virtual graph can be used both in the browser and in VR headsets.

We use real data from the Ideas Engineering knowledge graph, so it was necessary to understand and adapt its structure. Furthermore, browser-based VR is still in its early stages, so various tasks had to be mastered, ranging from the use of stretched graphs and controllers to browser support.
